Job Title:  Technical Consultant

Job Overview:

The role requires implementation of various solutions at customer sites throughout North America. As a consultant, you will work independently or as a member of a project team to ensure that a superior software solution is delivered to the customers. You will need to work closely with the project managers and clients to guarantee a successful product implementation. You must be willing to travel at least 75% of the time, including USA or internationally.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Participating in the full life cycle of a client product implementation, which may include business analysis, technical requirements gathering and specification, software installation, system configuration, product design and customization, enterprise application integration, and solution testing.

● Implementation of solutions within customer environments (installation, configuration, data transformations, etc.)
● Troubleshoot errors, performance, security and configuration issues encountered by customers during implementation.
● Extract, manipulate, clean and import data from customer source systems .
● Consult with and train clients.
● Support clients by email, phone and on-site.
● Assist the project manager to ensure that the project is delivered on time, on budget and exceeds the client's expectations.
 

Required Skills/Experience:

● Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
● A university degree in Computer Science or related is a definite asset.
● Ability to multitask and take initiative in an unsupervised environment.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to convey complex ideas to a variety of functional and technical audiences.

Recommended Skills/Experience:

● Exposure to a wide range of technologies including enterprise application integration, database design and configuration, web applications, operating platforms, security and networking.
● Experience with SAP technologies (NetWeaver, R/3 and/or ECC, XI) is a definite asset.
● Working experience with UNIX (Sun, Solaris and HP preferred) and Windows NT .
● Administrative and SQL experience with Oracle, MS SQL or DB2 .

● Experience with data extraction, transformation and loading from various legacy and enterprise applications.

● Working experience with Java and Internet development languages.

● Familiarity with HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript .

● Previous client facing software-consulting experience.
