Job Title:  Telecommunications – Mobile RF Chamber Test Engineer

 

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be experienced with wireless technologies and specifically with an understanding of the RF technologies that reside in handsets and other wireless devices. The candidate will be a member of the Terminal Certification Lab and, as such, will develop, maintain and execute the test plans pertaining to iDEN & CDMA Cell Site Emulators to assess the RF functionality of various devices. He/she will also contribute to the development of processes, methodologies, testing techniques and product development.

 

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

Conduct and ensure accurate and comprehensive execution of RF Parametric and signaling conformance test cases on candidate handsets (PCS, iDEN and Data Device) using Cell Site Emulators;
Investigate and solve technical issues related with the RF lab operation of iDEN & CDMA devices;
Run manual and automatic test cases;
Operate, calibrate and maintain the lab equipment and tools;
Setup the lab test equipment according with new specifications;
Develop new test scripts;

Stay current with testing methodologies and standards relating to the wireless industry;
Write technical reports for each device evaluated.
 

 

Required Qualifications:

University degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunications;
Minimum of two (2) years experience in the wireless telecommunications industry, preferably in the CDMA environment;
Experience with calibration and operation of lab test equipments (CDMA Cell Site Emulators), such as Agilent (8960 series & 8924), Spirent (C2K-ATS/PLTS) and Willtek 4303;
Hands-on experience with CDMA Spirent Test Platforms (Taskit C2K / PLTS, Test drive EVDO) and Agilent Test Manager;

Knowledge of 3GPP2 Standards: C.S0011, C.S0031, C.S0033, C.S0073;

Knowledge on CDG specifications: Stage I, II and III;

Ability to build Visual Basic Scripts using Spirent API;

Ability to read, writes, analyze, and interpret technical procedures;

A high level of problem solving and organizational skills required;

Strong research, analysis and troubleshooting skills;

Excellent multitasking skills for participating in concurrent projects in a cross-functional team environment;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Strong technical writing skills highly desirable;

Experience in working with terminal and/or infrastructure vendors;

Desire to learn and work in a continuously fast-changing environment;

Well-organized and detailed-oriented person;

Self-motivated, challenge-driven individual.
